Tie low spots into the surrounding landscape
An Okatie yard can have a small wet section even when the rest appears smooth. The important question is whether the low spot has a continuous path to a suitable outlet or is surrounded by higher ground.
Avoid creating new barriers at the edges
Include the boundaries of the work area in the grading plan. Dirt placed against existing grass or a driveway can create a lip that interrupts flow, so transitions deserve the same attention as the center of the project.
What we discuss for your Okatie project
- Existing elevations, low areas, and the source of surface runoff.
- A suitable outlet and transitions to surrounding ground.
- Fill delivery or redistribution, preparation, and placement requirements.
- Equipment access, retained improvements, and cleanup.
- The final surface and stabilization included in the scope.
Will fill dirt solve the drainage problem?
New dirt can help raise low areas when poor surface shape is the cause. The corrected ground still needs a planned slope and drainage route. Persistent saturation or an inadequate outlet may require further investigation and additional measures.

Our detailed drainage correction guide includes six project photos showing existing ground, delivered dirt, work in progress, and the shaped surface. These are project illustrations; they are not presented as a documented job in every city listed here.
Prepare for a Okatie grading estimate
Send the address or general location, photos after rain if available, approximate dimensions, access details, and your goals. Quantities and the appropriate grade depend on measurements and site conditions. We will discuss the scope and confirm scheduling for your location.
